What's a "Mainstream" Movie?
As the LA Times says, this year’s Oscar race may be the first awards show for "movies nobody watched." While the movie industry is convinced movies such as Brokeback Mountain, Syriana, or Paradise Now have finally connected with a mainstream audience, box office results by location indicate something dramatically different.
