I find it scary, i have noticed that people who watch a lot of TV and spend all their time on the internet stop having their own opinion. They simply just listen to the speaker on the TV, news, programs, stand-up shows etc and they simply copy/paste what they say.

I sometimes find myself doing it, and when i find my self doing it i just have to sit back and think where in the world did that come from and is that my opinion or just something i've copy/pasted somewhere from the web!

In a world where you are able to access such a vast amount of content on demand, young people are finding it silly to watch program TV that isn't flexible and requires a greater cost. Personally, when I moved into my new home I chose to lose the cable and satellite and use video on demand (via Hulu.com and other sites) in order to save money.

The way in which Christian media will have to adapt to still have their voice heard lies in a) Better content b) the use of social media to cause word of mouth buzz. The day of simply injecting our message on to the airways for people to view is over. In this new culture people are going to have to choose to view our content. We need to do something that stands out, gets people talking, and yet presents Biblical truth. We need to create a new generation of Parables and resurrect the power of story telling using these new technologies.

The world is changing fast, and if we want to reach our world, we need to change even FASTER.

Another factor I wonder may be skewing the numbers in the research. USA for example runs Law & Order SVU almost all day and night long. Do those being surveyed (if not electronically) actually know if they have watch 4 episodes or 1. Cable networks who run non-stop marathons of one show I think invited viewers to go elsewhere and multitask. My daughter can play her DS and watch the same episode of SpongeBob for the 3rd time this week, its like TV is the new radio. So I think the lack of anything original on TV and that it’s poorly programmed is causing TV to self implode.
