Evangelicals Miss The Big Picture
Bill Romanowski gets it. In his insightful article in USA Today, he states that, "If evangelicals would think about movies in terms of their own faith beliefs, they would actually have an opportunity to not only buy tickets, but also to begin to shape the entertainment industry." He’s talking about the fact that although we say we want movies and entertainment that are created for faith-based audiences, recent research indicates that religious and non-religious people are nearly identical in their attitudes about moviegoing.
Religious leaders think about Hollywood as a evangelism tool, but if we’re going to make a real impact in the culture, we need to understand how entertainment works. It’s about "culture, not conversion."
