Presentation Skills: The Key to Life

I can't emphasize enough the importance of having good presentation and pitching skills. From asking for a raise, to pitching a new project, to making a presentation, to asking your significant other to get a bit more romantic, life is about presenting. Slide Share recently sponsored a "best presentation" contest, and it's worth a look. I'm especially disgusted at bad Powerpoint presentations – because too many people use them as a crutch, and avoid learning to speak in front of a crowd. But check out these finalists. I think they'll give you some really good ideas for what a thought-provoking presentation could be today.

Crazy stuff. I really appreciated the economy of words and use of questions or implied questions, which involves the audience in thinking through their answers. Great use of imagery, for the most part. Some I thought were a little long, but I guess it depends on the usage. Enlightening.
